Blending abstraction with realism, this body of work invites viewers into the heart of nature and asks us to consider our relationship to the natural world, our spirit, our breath, and our lives. It tells a contemporary story that reaches beyond daily routines and ordinary conversation, exploring life and death in the garden as reflections of our own cycles of living, aging, and transformation.
This is an is an interpretation on the interaction between cycles of life foreshadowing beginnings, endings and the transformation process. A spiritual connection to God, the universe and something deeper — a reflection flowing through the rivers of time.
Having spent much of my enjoying nature, flowers, colors and sounds, these paintings are inspired by my hikes outside and the gardens I tend all summer long. Each work begins with a tiny seed of thought. The compositions evoke a sense of peace and contemplation and are mainly painted in greens, muted magenta and blues. Bright accents suggest youthful energy, while quieter tones reflect the present-day passage through midlife.
