12x36 Standing in the spray

I was inspired by the beauty of the heron. On the West Coast of Canada, I have a lot of opportunity to view them year round as they pop on and off the rocks along the seashore near my home. Painted in teals and greys with transparent layers on collage. I incorporated acrylic inks into the mix and one can almost imagine the spray of the sea in the background, hitting the rocks, while he searches patiently waiting for his next meal. It would make a great addition to your home or office. Painted in 2024.

30x20 War in the Heavens

This painting has six eagles at war with each other. I reworked this painting, searching for where it wanted to go…interestingly the number six represents both man and rebellion. In Native American culture, the eagle is a sacred bird, believed to carry prayers to the Great Spirit in the Spirit World. Swirls are often associated with transformation, resembling the flow of air or water. It would make a wonderful addition to your home. Painted in 2024.

18x14 Nucleus of creation

This painting speaks about the creation of the world as a tiny seed manifests itself into a great tree. As I reworked this painting I was seeking to find balance in the colors. The grey toned blues give it a feeling of peace and tranquility, while the spark of red sienna breathes life into the subject. 18x24 Looking Inward

Painted with 4 layers of paint - This piece took many months to complete as I was guided by intuition, watching it unfold and come into being. Teal has been used to represent the connection between ourselves and divine forces while the circles and swirly line work represent a supernatural motion that keeps things moving continuously. 14x11 Waiting

This painting came together during a period of great transition in my life. Waiting, can be the hardest thing to do sometimes. Can you see the bird that organically was formed in the right hand side under the crashing wave? The blues are symbolic of the waves that threaten to take over our lives and drown in the mucky mire of life. 16x12 Hummingbird in flight

This painting was reworked until I finally found the subject staring me in the face😊 Underneath the layers a hummingbird began to emerge, and I could just see it zooming all around the forest. Linework with ink pens intensified the effects while pops of teal and gold with a muted magenta background make for a peaceful and interesting effect. 16x12 Beautiful woman

I was inspired by the beauty of the female form as I was doing a lot of people and portrait drawing at the time using photos for inspiration. This painting has a lot of texture in the hair and bodice. It is the essence of beauty and mystery. Crimson, yellow ochre, paynes grey and white blend together to find a sense of harmony, and along the edges of the bodice you will see a transparent grey streak invoking movement as she walks away (or toward?) you. 72x24 The Great Divide

This painting is made up of three panels each measuring 24 x 24 inches. The painting “connects” as the colors and shapes move across the stage. The soft color teal on top provides a focal point into the eternal. This painting asks one to consider enlightenment, God, the universe and the beginning and end of all creation. This painting was featured in the book "Not an Island" Fall 2024 edition. I was inspired by the beauty of the raven. On the West Coast of Canada, I have a lot of opportunity to view them year round and they are a very interesting bird. In Native American traditions, ravens represent the creation of the world and good luck. Painted in Prussian blue with transparent layers and bursts of orange and quinacridone gold one can almost imagine the swirling of the universe coming into being. 16x20 Undersea beauty

I was inspired by the beauty of the sea. I used to do a lot of diving along the coral reefs, where the sea fans would gently rock on the movement of the currents under water. I could spend countless hours staring out into the great “nothingness’ on the edge of the reef. Created using magenta, and golds over a cool underpainting of blue there appears to be a depth as one feels the magic of the sea pull you in as you glide across the bottom of the ocean into the abyss. 16x20 Caught in the current SOLD

This painting was reworked in 2024. I added a lot of texture in places to this canvas to give it more interest. The blues invoke a sense of calm, while the oranges bring in a bit of life. The six birds are caught in the current “of life” while holding onto the earth. The earth, is shaped like an onion, revealing the never ending layers (lessons) that we must go through before surrendering to the end. It would make a lovely addition to your home.

This will provide endless conversation as you look for all the faces that came into being. There are seven faces inside this painting, can you see them?
